Nunes Exposes The Real Reason Trump Won’t Release Democrat Memo, It Makes So Much Sense

President Trump recently rejected the flawed Democratic memo. Democrats are immediately yelling ‘hypocrite!’ because he released the Nunes memo. However, not all memos are created equal. As much as Democrats don’t want to admit it, there are really good reasons to keep their memo classified.

“Ranking Member Schiff pledged to seek the input of the Department of Justice and FBI regarding the memo’s public release, and it’s no surprise that these agencies recommended against publishing the memo without redactions,” said Nunes in a statement.

Nunes told Democrats they must make “the appropriate technical changes and redactions” to the document that were recommended to them by the Justice Department “so that no sources and methods are disclosed and their memo can be declassified as soon as possible.”

“Although the President is inclined to declassify the February 5th [Democratic] Memorandum, because the Memorandum contains numerous properly classified and especially sensitive passages, he is unable to do so at this time,” wrote White House Counsel to the President Don McGahn in a letter to Nunes.

“However, given the public interest in transparency in these unprecedented circumstances, the President has directed that Justice Department personnel be available to give technical assistance to the Committee, should the Committee wish to revise the February 5th Memorandum to mitigate the risks identified by the Department,” wrote McGahn. “The Executive branch stands ready to review any subsequent draft of the February 5th Memorandum for declassification at the earliest opportunity,” he wrote.
