Police release footage of school vandals

ACT Policing have released CCTV footage in a bid to identify two vandals who caused extensive damage to Canberra Grammar School and Canberra Girls Grammar on Monday July 9.

More than 100 windows were broken between 1am and 2am, with further damage inflicted on Canberra Girls Grammar School Rowing Centre. Windows of school buses at both school campuses were also broken. The offenders used a baseball bat in the incident, which was caught on camera at the rowing centre in Yarralumla.

One offender wore black Adidas tracksuit pants, a black long-sleeve Nike SB top and covered his face with a dark piece of cloth white a lighter pattern. He also wore a New York Yankees baseball cap and black Nike shoes.

The second offender wore a black long-sleeve top, black tracksuit pants, black shoes and covered their head with a light-coloured piece of material used as a makeshift hood.

Police are also seeking the driver of a car that drove past while the incident was taking place at the rowing centre. Police don’t believe the driver was involved, but could have information to assist police. The car appears to be a blue sports car, possibly a convertible MG, ACT Policing said.

ACT Policing are asking anyone with information to assist the investigation to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report via the Crime Stoppers ACT website and quote reference 6285337.
