The FBI initially lied to the American people and said it could find no evidence that Donald Trump’s would-be shooter Thomas Crooks had no social media accounts. It turns out that Crooks did have a Gab account, which we only learned after Gab CEO Andrew Torba announced it publicly. After it got caught lying, the FBI appears to have lied to Congress again when it claimed that the account contained “anti-immigrant and anti-Semitic” content.
In his opening statement before a Senate committee this week, FBI Deputy Directory Paul Abbate claimed Crooks’s Gab account had these supposed contents. We are assuming that the implication Abbate was trying to make was that Crooks must have been Republican because of his “anti-immigrant and anti-Semitic” social media posts.
Thomas Crooks never posted a message of his own on Gab, but he commented on 17 other people’s posts. Andrew Torba publicly released all of Crooks’s posts. They all show that Crooks held strong beliefs in support of Joe Biden’s open-border immigration policies, Joe Biden’s COVID lockdown policies, and Joe Biden in general.
Crooks was a radical leftwing Democrat who supported Joe Biden. Torba posted the contents online before contacting law enforcement.
If the FBI is not engaged in a cover-up about the shooting, then why did the FBI Deputy Director lie to Congress? Why are they trying to portray Thomas Crooks as if he were a Republican?
Here is another important question that no one in Congress bothered to ask Deputy Director Abate. Why did Crooks make a random trip to Washington, DC, in June 2023—according to his phone GPS data—and park directly next to the FBI Headquarters building?
Here is Sen. Marsha Blackburn calling out Deputy Director Abbate on the FBI’s contradictory information:
