Not One Person in a Crowded Room Would Say Ukraine is a Top Ten Issue for Them

Donald Trump, Jr. spoke at a sold-out event in Illinois on Friday evening and couldn’t find a single person in the room who would admit that financing a “forever war” in Ukraine is something important to them. He was highlighting how incredibly out-of-touch the Republican leadership in Washington, DC is from their own voting base.

Leaders like Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) continue saying that Ukraine is the number one issue for Republican voters.

Don, Jr. says that McConnell “has probably not actually spoken to an audience of people that were other than billionaire funders.”

The new Speaker of the House, Rep. Mike Johnson, has indicated that he plans to continue aiming a firehose of cash at Ukraine as well. Donald Trump, Jr. says that he speaks to thousands of Republican voters every week at events like the one on Friday night, and he has yet to meet a Republican voter anywhere who supports additional funding for Ukraine.

Joe Biden has just asked for another $61 billion in funding to sent to Ukraine. Mitch McConnell and Speaker Johnson have both said that Ukraine deserves it. Meanwhile, Americans are struggling under crushing credit card debt to pay for household necessities and gas of $5 a gallon.

“Is Ukraine and funding another never-ending war a top three issue for anyone in the room?” asked Don, Jr.

The entire room erupted with a response of “No!”

He then asked if funding Ukraine was a top ten issue for the room full of GOP voters. Not a single person responded, “Yes.”

Trump says he asks this question all the time at events, and no Republican voters ever speak up and say that financing a proxy war with Russia with our tax dollars is something they support. Are the politicians in DC ever going to listen to us, though?
