It’s a miracle of biblical proportions! After only two weeks of release, a little Christian film called “Jesus Revolution” has grossed more than $30 million. This is a better domestic take than five of this year’s Best Picture nominees. It’s even more miraculous than that, the amount is more than four of those Best Picture nominees combined!

And remember, this is just after two weeks in theaters, all those other movies have already completed or are at the very end of their run.

Here’s the rundown:
The Banshees of Inisherin – $5 million
The Fabelmans – $17 million
Tár – $7 million
Triangle of Sadness – $5 million
Women Talking – $9 million

Altogether, those five films only grossed a total of $43 million, and “Jesus Revolution” will surely top that before its theatrical run is over.

Here’s another interesting tidbit, “Jesus Revolution” cost significantly less than all of these movies to make. And, most people had heard about all these other films before they came out. Because of the stars in them and the money behind them, they had all kinds of free publicity even before they were released. Almost no one had any idea about the Christian film before its release. The word-of-mouth advertising has been remarkable.

It turns out that there are a lot of Americans who can relate to well-told stories about Christians! After all, there are about a hundred million of them out there.

But do you think Hollywood will step up and notice this?

Don’t bank on it. They will keep their head in the sand on this one.

“Jesus Revolution” scored a 99% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes and an A+ CinemaScore. With a $15 million budget, the film has become a solid hit for Lionsgate and Kingdom Story Company.
